Another story hits the bricks, and other hurried jottings…

Hi!

So, “By The Light Of A Drowning Sun” is now available. You can buy the anthology in which it appears, Terror At The Beach, from here. I haven’t read it yet, so I can’t vouch for the quality of the other stories, but mine is pretty damn fine if I do say so myself. And, of course, I do. Just don’t be turned off by the book cover. Yes, I know, right? Not my call.

In other news, I’m flat out finishing a Gothic short story for another anthology and I’m just about to attempt the writing of a whole novella in two weeks. (That’s not the hard part – having enough time to edit it into perfection is!) And there’s so much more to come after that, if I can just juggle it right along with icecocoon rehearsals (band recording in two weeks, first gig in late November) and all that other shit that gets in the way, like work and sleep and socialising and stuff…

What I’ve been reading of late: Two Worlds And In Between by Caitlin R. Kiernan, Tampa by Alissa Nutting, just_a_girl by Kirsten Krauth, Path Of Needles by Alison Littlewood… I’m in a hurry, so that’ll do for now. And I’ve been cranking a lot of hip hop, like Pharoahe Monch, The Roots, Wu-Tang Clan, Gravediggaz and so on, as well as rocking the new Opeth and Shihad records. Rap has had an interesting effect on my writing, but that’s a blog for another time…

Let’s get into it! Be good to yourselves and each other, and I’ll see you on the flip.
